ABOUT THE FRIENDS

Established in 1978, The Friends of King’s is the parents’ association at King’s College Wimbledon. The Friends is a registered charity which organises social and fundraising events throughout the year (although Covid-19 thwarted 2020 events), with the aim to enrich the education of the students and foster a strong sense of community.
Our origins began in the spring of 1978, when a group of parents came together to build the Gibbs Pavilion on Colman’s field and has grown to an army of parent volunteers, working together with school staff, student and the local community. The Friends have raised over £1.3m and allocated funds to purchase equipment to enhance the sports, drama and music departments, as well as support King’s partnership and outreach programme to ensure that the school continues to play an active part in the life of our community.
We are enormously grateful to everyone who has supported, volunteered, and attended events and contributed to our ongoing success.
